He walks me what seems like FOREVER but I know where we’re headed. We’re headed to the tree we’re going to get married under. We get there and he takes the blindfold off of me. We’re standing in the middle of a heart made out of mason jars with little fake candles in them and rose petals on the ground *swoon*. He reads me a letter that he wrote me and of course I start crying.

I had the privilege of spending last Friday evening with Austin and Hannah (and their pups!!) to capture their engagement photos and the beautiful Barns of Madison County. I’ve known Austin since we were in high school—his sister and I played softball together and I shot her wedding in 2019! Austin proposed on their family beach trip last summer and Hannah reached out to me shortly after. We tried to wait until the weather warmed up to book their engagements but, of course, we got the coldest day in the last two weeks to shoot!

There is so much going on the week before your wedding. Finalizing the decorations, making sure everything is gathered in one easily accessible place, making sure none of the groomsmen show up late (lol). What should I wear to a session with you?? Well, I’m glad you asked!! Gone are the days of families wearing the saaaame exact outfit to a photo session. Anyone else’s family have way too many pictures of them on a beach wearing white tops and khaki shorts? I know you do because we do too!

Tyler and Amber’s Lake Anna Engagement session holds a bit of a special place in my heart. This is my sister and her FIANCE! These two have been in front of my camera literally since I got my first one. They’ve evolved with me from photography as a hobby to photography as a business. More importantly, though, I’ve gotten a front row seat to watch their love grow.
