Hi there! You’ve reached this page because you are interested in a maternity, newborn, or milestone session with Brittany Dyess Photography! I am so happy you are here and want to completely walk you through what you can expect during your time as my client.
First I want to start off with a little bit of information about me in case you haven’t explored my website! I am Brittany. By day I work for the Federal Government. By nights and weekends I am a capturer of light and the little moments that make you, your family, and your love special! I love what I do and can’t wait to capture your memories. Nothing makes me happier than when clients come back year after year for their photos and I get to watch their little ones grow up in front of my lens. It would truly be an honor to get to capture the memories that you’ll get to look back on for years to come! My heart is to capture those posed photos that mom/grandma wants framed on the wall, but also the in-between moments that show off your unique personalities, especially at such an exciting time in your life!
I know choosing a photographer to document your maternity, newborn, or milestone photos is such a stressful decision and i’m so grateful to be considered!
Let’s get down to business!
For maternity, newborns, and milestone sessions, I offer them individually and as a package! You can choose which sessions you want included in the package. The following types of sessions can be included in your bundle:
baby announcement - 400
Gender reveal - 400
maternity session - 400
fresh 48 session - 400
lifestyle newborn session - 500
six month - 400
one year cake smash - 400

choose 2 - choose any two sessions listed above and take $50 off of each session
Choose 3 or more - Choose any three or more sessions and take $75 off of each session
Baby announcement
a baby announcement is exactly what it sounds like. we do a couple’s session and announce your new bundle! Usually mama and daddies to be will bring pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, letter boards, little baby shoes, etc. to announce their pregnancy to the world!
gender reveal
We can combine your baby announcement and gender reveal, but if you decide to wait until your anatomy scan to find out your baby’s gender and want to do a session to commemorate such an exciting reveal, we can do that as well!
Maternity sessions
maternity sessions are best done between 32 and 36 weeks. This allows maximum bumpage, while minimizing the risk of you going into labor and having your babe before we get to capture your pregnancy! We can do them at your house (using your back yard where your babe will grow and run and your living room where they’ll likely take their first steps) or outdoors at a public location (I can recommend plenty!). it can be just you, or you and your significant other, we can include your other kiddos or not, whatever you want!
Fresh 48
A fresh 48 session is exactly what it sounds like. I come to the hospital within 48 hours of when you give birth and capture some pictures of your fresh baby. Obviously these sessions depend on the covid situation and the policies of your hospital, so make sure to check into those before choosing a fresh 48.
Lifestyle newborn sessions
I specialize in in-home, lifestyle newborn. You’re not going to get the perfectly swaddled, perfectly posed newborn photos from me—I always strive to capture you and your newborn in your element. The way you go about your day to day in your newly changed life! Usually mom and dad will swaddle the baby for some photos, we’ll do some in the crib, some on y’all’s bed, some on the couch with you guys, include your other kiddos, and maybe add in your pups depending on how they’re adjusting to their new human. I always grab photos of your little one’s features—eye lashes, nose, ears, fingers, toes—that way you can always remember how small they were! Newborn sessions take longer than you expect them to because we have to be super patient as far as making sure the babe is happy and sleepy and has a full belly! I’ll even grab some photos of you feeding your little one, if that’s something you want as well!
My newborn sessions include as much time as we need (up to 3 hours) to capture your newborn since they’ll never be that small again!
six month session
This will normally happen after your child is sitting on their own and has started to develop their little personality. We can do a fun themed session or really anything you want!
one year cake smash session
A one year cake smash session is the perfect way to celebrate your little one’s first big milestone! You bring the cake, the baby, and maybe some wine for you ;) and we’ll have fun capturing your child getting messy with their first birthday cake! If you want to capture your little one’s first birthday but don’t want to do a cake smash, that’s totally fine too. If you haven’t figured out by now, I’m super flexible and want to capture your memories the way you want them!
VIRGINIA STATE SALES TAX OF 5.3% WILL BE ADDED TO ALL PACKAGES. ADDITIONALLY, A TRAVEL FEE OF $1.00 PER MILE WILL BE APPLIED FOR ANY MILEAGE OVER 50 MILES ROUND TRIP FROM Louisa, VA per session. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOUR location of choice IS 100 MILES ROUND TRIP FROM MY HOUSE, THE TRAVEL FEE WOULD BE (100-50)*1=$50.00
