Kody + Kate | Fourth of July Virginia Farm Wedding

Kody and Kate got married on the Fourth of July at the beautiful Layz S Ranch in central Virginia. Kate and I played softball together at the University of Mary Washington, so I got to see hers and Kody’s relationship grow and flourish in the many years I have known her. Some years from up close and some from far away. When Kate reached out to inquire, I was SO excited she and Kody would be doing a 4th of July wedding. I knew the 4th of July was perfect for them. Kody went to VMI, is in the military, and is a firefighter. They’re easily the most patriotic couple I know and their wedding day and details were nothing short of Americana perfection! Kate wore American flag Liliana pumps and Kody wore an American flag bow tie, suspenders, AND socks!! These two and their entire bridal party were total troopers as we toughed out 90+ degree heat and direct sun to capture all of these amazing pictures. The day also included a father-daughter dance that started out with playing catch, surprise confetti cannons courtesy of the groomsmen, and Kate surprising Kody with Signature DJs’ awesome “Sparktacular Impact” exit. It was an awesome day and I am so glad they allowed me to share their day and capture their memories.

Also, a shout out to the awesome vendors:

Venue: Layz S Ranch

DJ: Signature DJs
