Austin and Hannah’s wedding at the stunning Barns of Madison County was so special and memorable! This was my first wedding ever where the ceremony had to stop after it started because it was DUMPING rain.

I had the privilege of spending last Friday evening with Austin and Hannah (and their pups!!) to capture their engagement photos and the beautiful Barns of Madison County. I’ve known Austin since we were in high school—his sister and I played softball together and I shot her wedding in 2019! Austin proposed on their family beach trip last summer and Hannah reached out to me shortly after. We tried to wait until the weather warmed up to book their engagements but, of course, we got the coldest day in the last two weeks to shoot!

Cody and Julia met me at their venue, the stunning Belle's Pleasure in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on a beautiful Saturday in March for their engagement photos. The light during this session just proves that winter light can be beautiful too, even without leaves to filter through!

I know 2020 was a hard year for a lot of people. It was a hard year in a lot of ways. But I want to focus on the positives in this blog post. My business has continued to grow despite a global pandemic. We have gotten to foster a lot more doggos since I’ve been working from home almost the whole year.

Tyler and Annie got married at the stunning and historic Sunnyside Farm in Hamilton, Virginia. The weather was perfect for an early October wedding. Thankfully we were blessed with a beautiful overcast day and not a single drop of rain!! It was an emotional and fun day all around. I loved how thoughtful Annie’s details were to her. She incorporated many family heirlooms and things her mother had given her, which made it extra special.

Austin and Sami’s central Virginia barn wedding was emotional (and fun!) from start to finish. Their family and bridal party welcomed me like I was one of their own from the very beginning.

The question most brides agonize over while planning their big day—should I do a first look with my groom?! If you ask me as a wedding photographer? ABSOLUTELY.

There is so much going on the week before your wedding. Finalizing the decorations, making sure everything is gathered in one easily accessible place, making sure none of the groomsmen show up late (lol).
