I had the privilege of spending last Friday evening with Austin and Hannah (and their pups!!) to capture their engagement photos and the beautiful Barns of Madison County. I’ve known Austin since we were in high school—his sister and I played softball together and I shot her wedding in 2019! Austin proposed on their family beach trip last summer and Hannah reached out to me shortly after. We tried to wait until the weather warmed up to book their engagements but, of course, we got the coldest day in the last two weeks to shoot!

Cody and Julia met me at their venue, the stunning Belle's Pleasure in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on a beautiful Saturday in March for their engagement photos. The light during this session just proves that winter light can be beautiful too, even without leaves to filter through!

I know 2020 was a hard year for a lot of people. It was a hard year in a lot of ways. But I want to focus on the positives in this blog post. My business has continued to grow despite a global pandemic. We have gotten to foster a lot more doggos since I’ve been working from home almost the whole year.

There is so much going on the week before your wedding. Finalizing the decorations, making sure everything is gathered in one easily accessible place, making sure none of the groomsmen show up late (lol). Here I am going to list a few things you should do the week before your wedding to make sure everything goes smoothly.

What should I wear to a session with you?? Well, I’m glad you asked!! Gone are the days of families wearing the saaaame exact outfit to a photo session. Anyone else’s family have way too many pictures of them on a beach wearing white tops and khaki shorts? I know you do because we do too!

Y’all, 2019 has been so good to us. I “officially” started my business, shot four of my own weddings, second shot another three, and so many more things I will talk about here in a second.

Tyler and Amber’s Lake Anna Engagement session holds a bit of a special place in my heart. This is my sister and her FIANCE! These two have been in front of my camera literally since I got my first one. They’ve evolved with me from photography as a hobby to photography as a business. More importantly, though, I’ve gotten a front row seat to watch their love grow.
